I brought my 2000 BMW 740il to 880 Auto Works due to a couple of recommendations, and I am completely satisfied. My car was due for a tune-up and I refuse to get robbed by the dealerships (stealerships), so I brought it to 880 Auto Works. It’s safe to say that I’ll probably never step into a dealership service department again, no matter what car I have. The total bill for the work done on my car was half of what I was quoted at the dealership, and my car is running like a champ again. The master tech, Simon was very adamant about proper troubleshooting to help me avoid spending more $$ than I had to. I know a garage is a garage, but never have I seen a shop that’s as clean as my kitchen (real clean).
Highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for a trustworthy place. I’ve been duped plenty of times, and it’s about time I find a place that I could stick with.

I have known Simon for almost 3 years now and he is definitely an expert in the automotive industry. From what I have seen he is like Sherlock Holmes when it comes to diagnosing a vehicle problem. I have brought my cars as well as friends and family’s cars to him for help. You can trust his word when he tells you what your car needs. He has a pretty awesome set up at this place on El Camino Real in San Carlos. Brand new alignment machine, tire changer/balancer and brake lathe. When I dropped off my car for a coolant leak he had it done real quick. The shop is close to the San Carlos train station too

I was looking at purchasing a used car, Saturn, and took it to Simon for a prep purchase and safety inspection.
Simon was very good and told me what it needed and more importantly what it did not need. His prices for what the car needed were very competitive.I appreciate his honesty. I ended up not purchasing the car as it was too small for me.
I will have Simon look at the next one. Thanks and keep up the good work

After receiving a mailer for 880 Auto Works and found that Simon was a specialist for Mitsubishis, I decided to bring my wife’s car there. I have done a lot of maintenance on my own vehicles to avoid being ripped off by large dealerships and independent shops (and I have) so it is great that I have found a person I can trust.
I was taken by his vast knowledge, experience and his customer service. He immediately diagnosed the problem, explained the charges and alternatives allowing me to choose the correct action. In so doing, I returned to have other work done. At that time, Simon informed me that work another shop had recommended was not necessary, thus saving me $$$.
Do yourself a favor and take your car problems to Simon.

It is always nice to know what your vehicle needs and what it doesn’t. Bringing my cars in to a shop where I know for a fact that the only recommendations I will receive is really what my vehicle needs. Never met anyone who will actually recommend to only perform an oil change even though I came in for a major tune up. Simon advised me that my BMW is in great shape and that I did not need to perform a major service yet until the next couple of oil changes. As for me, that type of honesty goes a long way. I’ve brought my cars in to different shops before, but I have never had this type of experience. They are very friendly and will make you feel at home. The shop is located on El Camino Real ( 1 block away from the San Carlos Train Station) right behind the downtown area (Chase Bank) so while my car was being worked on, I was able to go have lunch/snack around the area. I am definitely going to be recommending all of my friends and family to 880 Auto Works.
